CARE AND SAFETY
To get the most out of your candle, please follow these care and safety guidelines.
Care
Trim the wick to ¼ inch (5mm) before each burn. This helps prevent black smoke and keeps the container from overheating. A wick trimmer is the best tool for the job.
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely across the top of the container, creating a full “melt pool.” This prevents tunneling and maximizes the life of your candle.
Burn your candle for no more than 3–4 hours per session. When extinguishing, use a snuffer to avoid hot wax from splattering. Discontinue use when ½ inch (10mm) of wax remains.
To keep your candle looking its best, allow it to cool completely between burns. Trim the wick, remove any debris, and gently wipe away soot with a damp cotton pad and a small amount of soap and warm water. Do not pour wax down drains — it will clog your pipes.
Safety
Keep your candle away from drafts, which can cause it to burn unevenly and faster. If the flame becomes too high, extinguish it, allow it to cool, and trim the wick before relighting.
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and never move a lit candle. The container may become hot during use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, hazard, or injury.
Perfectly Imperfect
Occasionally you may notice wet spots or patches on the inside of your candle container. This is completely normal and is common with natural wax candles — even those that sell for hundreds of dollars in specialty stores.
These spots are caused by air bubbles that form as the wax cools and slightly pulls away from the container. They do not affect the performance, scent throw, or net weight of your candle. It’s simply part of the handcrafted nature of our product.
